In 1996, One of Andy's 21 wins came in a relief appearance. On April 30th, Andy was shelled for 8 runs and 8 hits and was knocked out in the second inningbefore recording an out against the Orioles in Camden Yards. A game the Yankees would go on to win 13-10. The next night, May 1st, the Yankees and Orioles played 15 innings. With an exhausted bullpen, Joe Torre turned to Andy Pettitte in the 13th. When the Yankees scored 5 runs in the top of the 15th and Andy closed out the game in the bottom of the frame, he improved his record to 4-1, picking up his first and only relief win that season.
