Acquired: January 20, 1972: Traded by the Chicago Cubs to the Yankees for a player to be named later. The Yankees sent Jack Aker (May 17, 1972) to the Chicago Cubs to complete the trade.

Released: August 18, 1973: Released by the New York Yankees.

Highlights

August 12, 1972: Johnny's grand slam in the bottom of the seventh highlights a 5-run inning in a 10-6 victory over the Milwaukee Brewers. On the day, Johnny went 3-for-3 with the grand slam and six RBI and three runs scored to lead the Yankee offense.  It was the fifth and final grand slam of Callison's career.
