Acquired: May 12, 1982: Butch was acquired from the Minnesota Twins with Roger Erickson in exchange for Pete Filson, Larry Milbourne, John Pacella and cash.

Traded: December 19, 1986: Butch was traded to the California Angels for a player to be named later and Ron Romanick. The California Angels later sent Alan Mills (June 22, 1987) to complete the trade.

June 27, 1983: After the Yankees tied the game in the ninth on an RBI single from Steve Kemp at the Stadium, Butch Wynegar plates Don Baylor with the winning run in the bottom of the eleventh with a single off the Orioles' Tim Stoddard, giving the Yanks a 4-3 victory.

June 30, 1983: Two days after notching a game winning, 11th inning single off the Tim Stoddard and the Orioles, Butch strikes yet again.  This time, with the game tied at three in the 12th, Butch belts a solo home run off Stoddard to complete a Yankee 4-3 victory and three game sweep of the Orioles.
