Memories

Cathy A. from Las Vegas, NV wrote: "My 12 year-old daughter gave me a 8x10 autographed photo of a Yankee player she waited in line for in 1994. After he signed it she asked him if he could add her mother's name. When she gave it to me, I could not understand his signature. Being a fan of baseball, but an Orioles fan, I did not recognize his picture or autograph. I kept his picture hanging in my office. One day, a co-worker noticed the picture and told me that was Gerald Williams. At the time Gerald was playing with the Braves. I asked, "How do you know?" John Pride told me, "My son played with Gerald and I recognized his stance." [Ed. note: John Pride is the father of Curtis Pride.] Wow, I was so impressed and excited that I had Gerald Williams' autographed picture with the 1994 Yankees. I've been watching "The Captain" and saw Gerald's picture and news about his passing earlier in the year. I also realized it was August 10th and Gerald would have been 56 years-old. R.I.P. Mr. Williams.
